A Reddit account and an approved commercial/API data use case

Ownership and availability

You own the Reddit account. Reddit must approve the API use case and Obelo app before OAuth monitoring can be enabled.

Start in Settings → Integrations and check the provider’s current status. This guide describes the configured setup path, not a guarantee of production enablement. Provider approval, plan access and resource permissions still apply.

Before you connect

  • A Reddit account in good standing
  • Reddit approval for the intended monitoring, commercial, and AI use case
  • Reddit access is shown as available in Obelo

Connect an existing account

  1. Open the provider in Settings → Integrations for the intended website.
  2. Confirm Reddit has approved the Obelo API use case
  3. Authorize the approved Reddit app with the monitoring account
  4. Return to Obelo and verify the connection before enabling community rules

If you need a new resource

  1. Document the communities, data fields, retention period, and user benefit
  2. Submit Reddit's Data API access request with the truthful commercial use case
  3. Wait for written approval before attempting OAuth

Permissions to check

  • Request only the read scopes required for approved community monitoring
  • Reddit data retention, deletion, attribution, and AI-use policies continue to apply after connection

Verify and troubleshoot

After Reddit confirms approval, return and check whether OAuth is available.

Reddit access is not approved or configured yet. Complete the official request and server credential setup before retrying.

Confirm the selected account or resource and inspect the verification or sync result. A saved connection is not proof that an import or publication has completed. Test the intended workflow with an appropriately reviewed item.

Disconnect or change access

Use the provider’s management controls in Obelo to disconnect when supported. Revoke the grant or rotate a dedicated credential at the provider if access must end immediately. Review already-imported data separately; disconnection does not remove content already published elsewhere.
